    Dumpvalve - Excessively Oily

Is it normal for a dumpvalve to be venting alot of oil?

Its a baily of some description, went to clean the bay a bit today and the PAS bottle was just covered in oil as was surrounding area, and the dump valve itself, given it all a good clean so I can monitor roughly how much is going through, but consdering there isnt meant to be oil in that neck of the woods I found it a bit alarming....

Could this be down to it using 5w30 oil at the moment and it being a bit thin?

yer it normal especially if using a thin oil such as 5w 30 it is recomended to use a slightly thicker oil as you can imagine the oil in the turbo gets rather hot as turbo runs around 300 d c so oil is rather thin and will get used

That link was in reference to my thread when i asked the same question a week or two ago. I'm not trying to panic you but my turbo went pop on fri it's under warranty as it's a new vxr one. but just pay special attention to your oil level check it every time you get in and out of your car to be sure, as i lost all my oil in one day and nearly wrecked the engine too.

The vauxhall people i bought it off says there was only 200 miles on it a month old and that it was under warranty and would replace it. i still have to pay for garage time though
