I'm having a bottom end rebuild this month - V-Tuning will be doing it. Would love to do it myself, but I don't have the tools or the time.
Anyway, I'll be having steel rods, forged pistons and oil spray bar fitted as well as a cam belt and roller change, new bearing shells (hitting 100,000 miles this week!) and a few other minor bits.
Part of this would include removing the balancer shafts. Has anyone here done this? Is the girdle strong enough without the shafts in place? Would a C20LET aftermarket girdle fit? The VXR apparently has a different (stronger?) girdle, but this is not available from Vauxhall for some reason (unless someone here can get it). Any thought on this? Would be it strong enough as is (assume 375bhp)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
