    smoke/steam ???? from turbo

went out to the car this morning and started it up as normal and then smelt like a burning oil smell, so looked under the bonnet and saw what looked like steam or smoke ( just a litttle ) from beside the turbo, right beside the heat sheild, Now the car isnt using oil and there isnt blue smoke from the exhaust, anybody any ideas- it goes away after a drive though.????

I wouldnt worry about it, just keep an eye on it and check there are no leaks on the oil feed etc.

Keep an eye on it. The oil return pipe can go. mine did and it is a pain to change. Vauxhall have redesigned this, so there was obviously a problem with the original one. The pipe usually cracks at the top right where it connects to the turbo. Just keep an eye on it for now.

Could possibly be the breather that comes out of the front of the rocker cover. The gasket on the bottom end of that (back into the sump) went on mine and was stinking.

if you get underneath the car , look up to the underside of the turbo. it could be weeping from there. it is on mine.
