im looking at geting some 18" alloys 215/35/18 et 38 will these go on my car ok even if i lower it 40mm i kno the Rolling radius is slightly small so speedo will be out by about.60%, just wondered if they will catch on full lock or rub with people in the back

It would help if u say what car u have

Presuming u still have a mk4 judging by ur last posts (even tho it was a for sale lol) - its in the wrong forum

either way a 38ET will be ok presuming the width is no more than 7.5"

Ideally 7 or 7.5" wide should be 40-49mm & 8" wide is 45-49mm but a 38mm shouldnt cause too much issues if its 7/7.5" - rubbing wont be a problem if ur within these offset limitations

If its lowered by 40mm I'd see if u could get at least 40mm offset

Find out exactly the width of the rims in question and we can advise further

As for speedo realted issues - you may find its actually more accurate - 215/35/18 is spot on

personally i run 7.5" x 18" with ET40 on 215/35/18 and lowered approx 55/45 with no rubbing whatsoever - even with boot full of junk and 5 up

u will probably get away with the offset in all honesty - i know theres ppl on here who have et's as low as 35 and their cars are lowered

i wouldnt advise messing around with spacers as we're only talkin a few mm's here and it should be ok...if it were to catch (which i seriously doubt) then it'd be far easier just to trim/modify the affected area

Have u actually bought the rims yet?
