    Z20LET under drive pullys

Are the under drive pullys worth it?

Been reading a few places that its not good for the engine as there is no rubber to dampen vibrations etc.

Also whats the difference (Apart from price) between these:

    Regals: http://www.regal-shop.co.uk/acatalog...G_Pulleys.html

    Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Z20LET-ASTRA-T...QQcmdZViewItem

dont know about making the engine worse but the rubber apparently breaks down so then it will come off, or so thats the reason for them,

    Hi

I've read lots into this and used to have underdrive pulleys on my ST170.

To be honest I wouldn't fit them on my LET. Its not vibrations the OE pulley dampens its harmonics. Harmonics are what could cause your main crank oil seals to fail and possible barings... So as precaution manufactures fit these pulleys with the black rubber section to remove the harmonics. So if all manufactures fit these why would we remove them????

If you want to lighten something lighten the flywheel.....

This has been discussed in full in many forums. I have had mine on for 40k miles with no issues. The 2nd harmonics will be damped out by the pulley or the balance weights. You only need one. The choice is yours

As far as I can see the Courtney one is not an underdrive but standard sized. Please correct me if I am wrong

thats also what i seen, but if the regal one is smaller, how much smaller and what belt do you need to use or can you get away with the stardard one as its on a auto tensioner?
