    turbo service kits-any good?

    hi guys
    i was rooting around on egay and found a k04 turbo service kit. i contacted the guy and he said the one for the turbo is 120 and when i asked him how easy they are to do he said straight forward. you get all the seals and other perishable parts and just replace old with new. i am not sure and was wondering if anyone of you guys has ever tried onwe of these kits as they do seem like a good idea as long as the blades on the turbo and casing is ok.
    what do you guys think and has anyone used one yet.
    cheers
    steve

    worst case is you cant get it back together so will end up buying a VXr unit.

    depends how brave you are really, most turbo companys charge from around £250 to replace seals.

    Personally I'd spend the money on upgrading to a vxr unit. You're likely to be chucking good money after bad.

    hi guys
    yes i keep thinking about the vxr turbo but i have to get other things sorted on the car and id be happy with the engine just working right so i can start doing the car up bit by bit. i have put the link below and the price of the service kit is 120 quid and instructions come with the kit aswell, he says its quite straight forward but you just dont know do you.
    http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=ADME:L:RTQ::1

    everything comes in the kit and the only problem that i think there might be is putting things back the wrong way but if you strip it down and lay everything out i dont think you could really go wrong and its cheaper than a refurb unit. the only thing you dont get new bades just the seals/bearings and nuts/washers.
