    HID Conversion Kits

Hey I was wondering what bulb do I need for my Vauxhall Astra G 2001 Model? Because i'm looking to buy some HID kits of eBay at around £70 for the pair. You get choice of bulbs and the Temperature which effects the colour? Which would be the best in your opinion? Cheers!! (First Post BTW)

    welcome to AOC,

colour temp comes down to personal preference, 4300k i think is the factory one, 8000k is what most go for iirc,

    and you would need H7's,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm tempted for the 12000k (Purple) would look good from a distance I think but they say the lower the temp e.g. 4300k then the better viewing from in the car

i would have thought 12000k could attract to much attention to the police tbh, but all depends on the look your going for, personally im going for a more standard/subtle look so will get 8000k,
imo 12000k would need to be on a heavily modified car to suit it, but all down to taste,

have you got any pictures of your car you could post up?

I'm not going to highley modify it but I think a White with a blue tint would look good. I'm looking to buy some Alloy's for it soon and paint the black plastic skirts. It's only a LS !! Just wanted some HID Lights because they are alot safer and look good. Another question is do I need project headlights? Or can you use the standard ones?

you can use the standard ones, but they would work better in projectors like the sharkeyes.

12000k is almost purple, it's not blue at all. Best results are around 6000k, still very bright but do have the blue tint. 4300k are the best for vision but lack a little of the blue.
