I have one, they are a bugger to get set up though.

The best thing to do is to trim the controller to the centre and then leave it there, once you have done that it takes alot of fine tunning on the carburator(sp), should be a little screw (best to do 1/4 turns at a time).

Also what fuel are you using as this can affect the idle.

I have one and they a bit of a pain to set up for the first time.

Turning the mixture screws a little bit makes a big difference.

Have a look at the 4 sticky's on here for more info on how to set it up: http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/index.php?showforum=52

I think that i can get the high end set correctly but the area which i am finding difficult is the idle, i cant get it to idle without engaging the clutch and driving the wheels thus stalling the engine.

There is an idle screw which adjusts how much the carb closes when you apply full brake.

This needs to be set so that the carb doesn't fully close when full brake is applied, easier to set up with the air filter off so you can see how open the carb is.

What Engine is it? Most only have a high + a low mixture screw, but some like the HPI .21 have 3 screws. I had one of these and never managed to set it up well. In the end i replaced it with a SH.28 and that seems a very easy engine to set up + fine tune.

have you followed the run-in procedure to the letter.you will not get it set up or idling smoothly until it has been run in and loosened up,and it should be run in with the mixture really rich so that it smokes like a bitch, has oil dripping from exhaust

yeh ive done the run in process and the car must be on the 11 or 12th tank of fuel by now. the engine seems to be run in ok its just the idle im having trouble with.

the truck is the HPI firestorm with G3.0 engine if that helps
