    Help my battery problem

    hi guys can u please help me ive got a problem with my battery in my astra g.
    the battery is 1 year old and recently i clean up my engine bay and i saw liquid on my battery tray and along the cable and when i touch it its very sticky and slimy . i also clean it up b4 and today when i open the bonnet and check it still pouring some battery liquid so what can i do now ?

    Get the alternator charging checked. If it overcharges the battery acid will come out of the pressure release valve even though they're "sealed for life" if it's a genuine GM battery. If the alternator is overcharging then replacement is usually easier/cheaper than rebuiling it.

    You also need to rinse the fluid off the paintwork thoroughly as the acid is corrosive.

    how can i do that ? do i have to take the battery out ? thx with what type of soap to rinse ?

    Use a digital volt meter (DVM) across the battery while the engine is idling. The voltage should be 14.4v, or at least between 13.8 and 14.8. If it's more than that the alternator regulator is faulty but it's probably easier and cheaper to replace the alternator completely.

    An auto-electrician can check it, for a fee!

    Just rinse the battery tray and any bodywork nearby with lots of plain water.

    yeah mine says 14v coz i got volt meter . and i have clean the corrosive liquid and when i check this morning its still leaking out a lil bit so what can it be is it a broken seal in my battery ?

    A fractured battery casing is rare but can happen - you'd need a new battery then.
