    Worlds worst evening

on way back from LMF last night, spent over 4hrs sat on M25 due to over turned lorry. moved about 3miles in just over 4hrs and used like stacks of fuel stopping and starting all time. was like stop,5secs l8r go 5ft,was like that for hrs
no wonder they call it the car park, cars where pulling off to hard sholder and probs running out of fuel, was grid lock,a 12 mile tail back.
seen at least 20 cars broken down on hard shoulder,
    so got me thinking.
whats the longest u sat in a traffic jam

2 and a half hours when we had that really bad snow storm around 4 years ago. didnt really have the problem of overheating and stop starting because it was so cold and there was so much snow, the traffic was at a complete standstill.

4 hours in snow (only a light dusting) but the midlands came to a stand still. I was in Cannock and it took me 2 hours to move 100 yards from our gates at work. This was when I had my rover and the alternator was crap so I sat there no radio, no lights, my foot reving the tits out the engine to put as much juice in the battery as possible.

In the end after 4 hours I decided to go down the m6 toll. That took 40minutes (usually 10) sitting behind a snow plough and watching people trying to over take it and then loose it in the barrier. Got home at 10:00pm after leaving work at 5:00pm. Journey usually takes me 20minutes going home from Cannock too me 5 hours in total.
    Its a jam thing

Took me 4 hours to cover a 45 min journey in the snow we had last month. That's the longest I can remember, although my memory is rubbish.

4.5 hours waiting to get into trax in 2004 - i was 5 miles out of the circuit - from that day on and the promise of better roads i now get there for 7am - traffic situation is still just as bad if your aiming to arrive at 10am

and also the year of the snow shower and feeze - 2005 - to to 2 miles - waiting and queing for 6 hours - ditched the works van in the end and walked home - the whole town was gridlocked from all directions in and out
