Thumbs Up Any Vauxhall Techies on?

    Hey guys.. Can you help?

My car (04 coupe) just came back from the dealers yesterday, after having a 3 yr service.

This morning i fired it up and the inspection light within the speedo came on?? So i rang the dealer back and they said that the inspection light is set at the factory and may be just pure coincidence that its just come on, they say if it is not illuminated at the time of the service, then they cannot reset it. Now the thing is i normally change my oil etc twice a yr, except for this yr when ive left it for the full 12 months, Ive never had this insp light come on before, yet the dealer says that its set at the factory according to date / mileage so was probably due to illuminate at the time of the service and now it has, it can be reset??? Is this true?? or is someone telling me porkies?? I thought the complexities behind the illumination of the insp light was more complicated than whether the car had travelled a certain mileage or time between services.

    Cheers guys

    Darren

With the ignition off, push your mileage reset button in and hold it in, turn on your ignition still holding the button in and wait a few seconds untill
    - - - - comes up, should be job done
The dealer probably forgot to re-set it, it happens

That's a load of crapolla! the 'insp' will illuminate at set intervals for the car to be serviced. To remove the 'insp' put the key in the ignition and hold the mileage reset buttton then turn the key to the II on the key barrel and the 'insp' should flash and then '---' this will appear.

Turn the engine on still holding the mileage reset button and the 'insp' should have gone.

Or just ignore it as I do. Mine's been coming up for over 6 months, just never bothered resetting it.

Is it possible to reset the INSP each time a diy service is done, even without it being on at the time, to act as a true reminder - or is that a Tech2 job?

You reset it like 2 people already posted above.

With Tech2 you can set the mileage and time interval to next service.

With the Push button method it defaults, to 365 days, and 20,000 miles.
