Done the Sport Cat + Cat back system and the K&N panel filter, now have an AVC-R but I am having difficulty getting the ECU pin data to connect it up, any info or ideas?

Most manuals (Auto Data) don't cover it specifically, only probably to trace wires from end use item and follow back to ECU scource.

Can you fill me in on what you have tried to do so far? Z20LETs use OBD II with a few tweaks, but it should be possible to pinch stuff off the ECU. Just need to know what you need and and what you have tried so far with the ECU

I have a pin out somewhere, I'll try and dig it out if I have a moment.

Really don't think you are going to get anywhere with a boost controller on the Z20LET though. It will throw a fault and stick the ECU in limp mode.

The issue with the Z20LET is that it uses the map sensor for fueling and double checks the reading from this with the air flow meter. If a boost controller tricks the ECU into thinking boost is lower than it is, the ECU will see too much air flow at the AFM and flag a fault.

Thanks for the replies, wish it was more encouraging. I was looking to do some mods as described and went to a local recommended Tuning Centre (Dyno etc) and asked about a re-map, they said the Apexi AVC-R was a better route as it is re-programmable and it was a basic mod they do to all Suburuís/Evoís etc, it is better as it comes with 3 setting and (they recommend standard/220bhp/245bhp) you can program the power in each gear which is handy as mine wheel spins too much in first as it is, it also has a learning mode which balances power to gear in use? It is apparently becoming a popular mod on European cars!! I have some mates who have Suburuís and have no issues with this mod and have no Ecu fault problems and mine should work also (1 turbo car is much the same concept as another) I have however bought the AVC-R and the installation manuals only cover (Pin Out Data) at present every Jap car you could mention. The problem that has been mentioned regards over-boost and Ecu going into safe mode is a concern, my mates say that all Ecuís have an Ecu over-boost limit typically about 20psi and their boost levels are programmed below that at 15/17 psi thus giving them no issues. The Tuners say that the overriding factor how much boost I can get is actually the standard fuel pump and itís limitations, when they do the Dyno/programming of the AVC-R they will limit the boost to fuel supply as if itís starved of fuel and runs lean the engine is liable to melt.
The actual connections (splice) in to the Ecu are as follows:- 1=IG power 2=RPM or Injector Signal 3=Ground 4=Ground 5=Throttle 6=Speed Signal (7=Scramble S/W Out which is optional) No 7 is like a boost type button that I donít intend having at this stage.
    Cheers

Already got a £230 AVC-R to fit, so optoins are limited, if it don't work I can always get a remap and use the AVC-R as the displays are really trick, not an economical way to get 245bhp, so we live and learn, thanks anyway, it shows the value of this site and to visit these sites prior to going to some tuners???
