    Car Broken in too

Had my car broken in to this evening whilst parked up in Rochester, the little gits put the drivers window. They managed to find my Satnav that was stashed under the drivers seat (yeah i know, should have taken it with me) they left the stereo and cds and the money in the ash tray.

Now my question is, how much is a side window, going to cost me £50 excess for the insurance but dont want all the hassle so considering just paying for it, or maybe doing it myself.

It is gutting when some little t*at thins they have the right to just help them selves to peoples stuff

To be honest mate, you'd be better off going through your insurance and paying the 50 quid. I think my insurance and most others it does not effect your NCB?

yeh better off with payin the excess and getting autoglass to do it or whatever. They did one on my old car, just ring them give them your fully comp policy number and then they will arrange a time to repair it - will even vac up all the broken glass in the car aswell. It doesnt affect your no claims discount.

try a local scrapyard for the window....have'nt a clue how much, but I reckon it would be less than 50

Sorry to hear that mate. If i was you i would get a proffessional to fit it. And go thru the insurance co as it doesnt affect your NCB. However i would stip out the door cards and plastic liner and try to get every single fragment of glass out of the bottom of the door, otherwise it'l rattle and could even dent the exterior panel. Thats the nightmare part. but thats what id do.
