    Home make brake upgrade.

    Finally got round to fitting them this weekend. Got the idea form Steve off the zlet website. There was a lot of measuring up with the bracket's which were made from billet alloy. Have not been out to test them yet but will let u know how i get on.

    so can u explain what u had 2 do 2 fit them? using what ? is it porsche turbo calipers? cheers

    what steel are they made from. also, you really should have fillets at the 90 degree joints and radiused edges.

    The caliper's are off a Porsche boxter 2.7. Also known as the 986.

    I'm slightly concerned here as the bolts holding the mounting bracket to the hub don't look to be high tensile steel ones, they should be 10.9 IIRC to withstand the pressures they can be subjected to.

    Also the bottom bolt hole looks closer to the edge than the top and that may be a weak point. Maybe a rework on the bracket may be needed.

    Other than that a nice job, look very similar to my Brembos. You may have clearance issues though getting the caliper to clear the wheel spokes.

    Had to use 8mm spacer to clear the std gsi wheel.

    How much did you have to pay for the calipers, I could never find any for less than £400 a pair!

    I got the caliper's off a Porsche salvage place on ebay 4r £180.
