    Exclamation Turbo Surge

    Hi All

As most of you may have seen, I purchased my car yesterday

On my test drive I noticed the turbo was surging when on full throttle, so I mentioned it and they have changed the mass air flow censor saying that was the problem and now to let it bed in ???? Anyway it is still surging after doing 200 miles this weekend, not as bad but am still losing power..

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how did you fix it
Or any ideas on what they need to sort out.

The car has only done 23thousand

    Cheers

Sound like a boost control solenoid issue.

It may not be the BCS but it is certainly possible, there are 2 of them, 1 on the turbo and 1 on the rear of the engine. the dealer should be happy to change these as they are only about £26 each.
Let us know how you get on!

Don't be too hasty, someone else may be along in a mo with a different idea!
Does the car feel like its 'pulsing' now rather than surging?

lol i will keep a eye just incase someone eles replys

1st 2nd is fine with a nice gain but as soon as I go into 3rd 4th 5th the turbo feels like there is a power surge, foot down and the turbo is on off on off on off ???? you can feel it jolting!!

But it was far worse when I test drove it, so they have done something.

    Thanks for your help m8

as above could be the BCS or might just be a weak actuator as it cant stay closed at high rpm ??

    Hi all

    Just a quick update.

I went to the garage today and said about the problem and mentioned it could be the BCS and the actuator and they are ordering both new in. so hopefully that will sort it out.. Prob be Wednesday Thursday, so i will let you all know once fitted.

    Cheers
