    2.2 starter motor

Hello to everyone, I am having some trouble trying to remove the starter motor from my asta coupe 2.2. I can find the bottom fine but I cannot find the top bolt! some people have told me that it bolts in from the gearbox side, but I just can't see it. Any idea's or pic's to help me would be great!

The top one is just about diametrically opposite the bottom one - so look treads the top of the oval mounting flange. it's probably obscured by the solenoid

It's defo not bolted in from the bell housing side

I can see a bolt above the one I have taken out but it is not the same as the bottom boltit looks like 19mm bolt. By looking at it the only way to undo it is by taking the rad out or using a short spanner.
    It is very weird!

sounds like you've found the wrong one

you need to get an extension down the back of the solenoid, and parallel to the crankcase. Leave the rad alone

    O.K
So the top bolt should be the same type as the bottom bolt, correct?
I did run a extension bar down it but didn't fill anything, must of missed it then. will keep tryin! Thanx.
