    Cheque Books ?????

This is not a rant at all!!! Honestly just interested

I am genuinely surprised by the amount of people that dont have cheque books? Or have never needed one before?

I use mine quite often and extremely often for work. What did you people do before Paypal (which charges you a fortune) and internet banking (which again I am surprised by the amount of users on here that dont have it).

In no way a moan just surprised by the replies I have had back from the AOC threads

I always thought all current accounts give out cheque books but I have no real need to use mine unless i'm sending money somewhere

Last cheque I wrote before my AOC membership was for my car tax at the end of September

As for internet banking, I can swap money between my own accounts but haven't got a clue how i'd pay someone else through it

very few people use cheques anymore, but i agree about internet banking, i dont know how people look after their money without it,

i work in a bank and still use internet banking everyday...

Cheques are too slow, having to wait for them to clear + be posted if buying over the internet.

I have one and use it when necessary. I generally buy things online with the card, but if i buy off a forum and don't do a bank transfer ill send a cheque, i realy don't like paypal for some reason.

Lots of peopel use cheques!! In fact all my customers do Its the only method of payment to my company other than BT's (which is rare).

I have recently opened 3 new back accounts and all have sent me a paying in book and cheque book in the first week of opening the accounts, so banks are stiull sending them out

I do think there will be a day when cheques are phased out but I think its a fair few years off yet..

Oh BT's still take a 4-5 working days to clear, just liek cheques also

I do use cheques now and again (If I have) - one thing which puts me off is that my bank now claim it takes 7 working days to cash a cheque which is shocking!
