    Dump valve not working

anyone had a problem with dump valves??

I have baileys on mine and over the last few months it has started to sound a bit feeble and not working properly. I bought a new one last week and I am now not getting any noise at all. when changing gear all i can hear is wastegate chatter. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?? also seems to be really laggy too??

have checked for leaks and can not find any

do you have a boost gauge ??

could either be a split vacuum hose or a boost leak

I was thinking boost control valve fault but wasnt quite sure why this would stop it from dumping?

I have a boost gauge, all seems to be fine with that, readings normal when it finally gets there! have taken gauge off and ran it too and no difference.

    could this be turbo failure?

Vacuum on idle should -20 and that will tell you if you have vacuum leak, if you have a leak they tend to only sit at -10.

Sounds like a split intercooler hose if the above is fine

dont mean to be thick mate but not sure what u mean by -20 lol

I was thinking maybe a hole in the intercooler pipes but would I not hear this? and would I still hear only wastgate?

Depending on what gauge you have it should start at say -30 then go to 0 then round to to say 20 / 30psi. Car not running should sit at 0, car at idle should bearound -20 when driving with foot down should go round into psi etc.

If an intercooler hose is split it wont leak until you floor it so the engine maybe drowning it out etc.

ahhh I see what you mean! cheers mate,

my gauge is measured in bar. it tends to sit between -0.5 and -1.0 bar on idle and then when I lift foot off gas, will sit at -1.0. does that sound right?

Yer that sounds fine, so it sounds like a split intercooler hose.
