Red face Just got an insurance quote...

I just got my first insurance quote after my accident...

For those who don't know i passes my test last april at the age of 17 and i bought a 2001 Astra G 1.6 8v Club, i was insured through my dad who had maximum no claim's which equaled a 70% discount, anywhoo i wrote the car off 5 day's later which resulted in a claim for £4040 and my dad lost all his no claim's.

Once the claim was settled i bought my current car, a 2001 Astra G 1.6 8v LS and i done the PassPlus course, i've had the car for 8 month's now and i want to change to a 3dr 1.8 SXi so i just phoned up Direct Line to get a quote..

They wouldn't touch me with a bardge pole if i was to insure it myself so the car will be going in my dad's name and he'll be the policy holder and i'll be a named driver, this got me a quote of £2101.65

On one hand i'm happy that i can get insured on the car, i haven't got it yet, it'll be a few more month's.

On the other i'm a bit gutted that i've got to pay £2k on insurance.

Can anyone recommend any insurance companies for young drivers..?

Your just lucky the insurers paid the claim mate, might not be so lucky the next time. Risky business.
