I remember I think it was NRJ (Vauxy's 'man' ) had one and rated the build quality as pretty good, and not too noisy...

.....So it'll be the Remus centre pipe that makes it noisy

I have the Sportex cat-back system for my 03 1.8 sxi, and I am so far impressed, if you let off and cruise, it's nice and low, but drop a gear and floor it and it gives a nice sporty tone, nothing too lary though.

As for performance, i have only had it a couple of days, so I'm not too sure yet, although if nothing else, I have found that the acceleration is now much smoother, if not faster...

I've got a remus and a sportex, its noisey, perhaps slightly too noisy for me sometimes. But it looks good and construction is spot on, even though its mild steel. You certinly get what you pay for!

I've got a pic somewhere comparing the irmy one to the sportex, i'll dig it out!

I had a Sportex cat back system on my old mk3 Astra and thought it was excellent value for money! The sound was pretty impressive as was the tailpipe design.

I have a sportex back box on one of my astras currently. It isn't too loud at all on its own and the build quality is excellent. If combined with a race tube it may be alot louder...

Looking at selling mine soon too and since its only 3 months old is in good nick! **Shameless plug**

I would get another one if it was in the style I am now after (and that isn't because I am selling!)

Go for the cat back system i'd say. Had one on my 1.8 for about a year and i'm pleased with the sound and quality.

Although mine does have a leak from the join between the downpipe/cat and the centre section. Gives it a bit of a burble as the revs drop which i like anyway lol
