    i am thinking of getting rid of my 1.8 coupe to get the turbo he he it is on a 52 plate and has 47k on clock with a few decent mods on it the think i wat to know is what would i get on trade in and what would i get for private sale??

    Your best bet is to go and see a few at different garages and barter to get the best deal. I traded my Cougar in for my last Astra and the guy offered me £3400 for it. The previous garage I went to offered me £2500 for it! It's quite a desirable car the coupé so you should be able to get a good price if you hold out.

    You'll 99% of the time get a much better price privately but you can get timewasters, crap offers, dodgy people coming to your house... that's why I usually part-ex my cars.

    the thing with selling privately is the gap between selling yours and buying the new one. or infact, the pressure of having to sell quick when you see something you want.

    There's a bunch of crap wrong with mine so i'm deffo part exchanging it soon. too much effort and not worth it.
