    Is this a 'broken' turbo

    I have a astra coupe turbo (z20let) and i have had massive blue tinted clouds of smoke from the exhaust, and the other day i got to work to have a samll amount of smoke coming from engine bay, the car has hit 65k on org turbo unit has it finally given up??

    im not getting any loss of performance but it is eating loads of oil at min??

    Sounds like the seals in the turbo are going/have gone or that your piston rings/valve seals may be going. Probably the turbo though. Does it only happen on boost? What about gear changes?

    happens all the time now, im going to declare it off road as the amount of smoke is silly now, its on boost and when changing gears some times it dies at diff revs usually over 2.5k

    im thinking its the turbo at min as steam always seams to be off the turbo when bonet poped;

    but advise is well appreciated

    phoned my local garage and they said its a HUGE job to fit as they got to flush the intercooler out and that it could also be damaged is that true??

    vaux charge around 2-3hrs labour max. so if a garage charges £50hr should be no more than 150-200 max.
    i phone a few vaux garages all bar one said bout 2-3hrs one wanted to charge me 4hrs

    i took a the zlet fitting guide wen i had it done,so if they never done one b4 can follow the guide,helped as well.espec the oil return pipe
