Dump Valve Yes or No ?

Hi there first off want to big up the site lovin it just joined and first post .

Pretty much my first mod to my GSi was putting the bailey dumpvalve kit on from Regal Autosport. Never really thought much of it although personally feel there was a slight drop in performance. Anyway just read a post on here about whether the original Re-circulating one was disabled or not. I disabled mine is this right should i have or should i even have the bailey on there ?

Probably been asked before but any help appreciated for the new member .

People do like them for the sound but it does make them run rough. Especially when you start tuning them.

Motorway driving is the worse with boost leak as the dump valve leaks because the car wants to re-circulate it.

In the end we all take them off

    Cheers for the Reply Neil.

So you reccomend taking off the bailey and running the re-circ one back through. Do you know of any way to check if the re-circ one is working as i think i plumbed it in wrong once and wanted to check it still worked properly ?

The Bailey DV26 is a waste of space imo, ran one on my first astra GSi and then on my Zafira Gsi, was fine for the first 5kmiles but after that they tend to leak due to the seal around the piston. not worth it with that particular one.

You could run one of the Nasa space shuttle like Turbo keith B does though.

The standard valve on the turbo should have a spring in side which bailey tell you to remove and replace with a spacer and then the vacum pipe goes round the airbox and down the back of the engine to the other boost solenoid.

if it is driving fine now and you are happy leave it on, Courtenay say if you want to run a dump valve leave the standard one working aswell but for best results just run the standard one.
