    safety camera partnerships

has anyone ever been caught speeding by the various counties safety camera partnerships,

i was supposedly caught speeding by 1 in april,

there seem to be so many departments within it that the left doesn't know what the right is doing.

I was about 2 years ago, twice along same bloody road, but about 3 miles apart, and 6 months apart. Gits.

The camera partnerships are part council/part police. The guys that work the vans are civvies though, so only ever work M-F 7am-7pm, although I've not yet seen one in the dark

if its a civie then you cant be done for it

the police have to form an opinion of your speed and the camera is a back up/confirmation

mine was on a sat morning, must have been overtime

Mankmic, fraid you're wrong there. Photographic evidence is enough to convict, doesn't need a policeman/women.

If your argument is to stand, explain how a regular speed camera can provide a conviction/points/fine??

i believe that the police have to press charges within 6 months for a motoring offence or its void. Anybody else heard of this?

Rob, you have to get a NIP (notice of intended prosecution) within 28 days I think, otherwise it's useless.

They have longer if the car is registered with a business (i.e company cars and hire cars)

I got busted on the way to an emergency job (no excuse I know but I was in a hurry), was in a hire car mondeo. Took a couple months for the ticket to catch up with me.

ok on the lti 20:20 speedscope cameras it is the case. there must be a police officer in the vehicle.

apparently a police officer is trained to jusdge your speed where as a civillian aint
