    Going to do some research...

Im going to get hold of x20xev and x18xe inlet cams and trial fit them to my zlet Catn find any x18 cams at the moment been quoted very cheap prices for the x20 cams though

Need to get hold of both, book a day at westec and rolling road it

Someone in S.A has done it and made 5bhp We'll see though.....

Good plan. It may also be worth sending the 2 cams plus a standard z20let cam to Kent Cams as they have a machine which can plot out the profile and includes lift a duration figures. Cheaper than you may expect. Also, I'm sure some poeple on here will help towards the costs of this if you setup up a paypal donations thing - as I'm sure this will benefit many people on here.

    Good job!

No - this is why I bought it, so that I could find this out, but it appears to be a regrind of an aftermarket cam - which seems strange. It has "sport" stamped on it and no evidence of GM part numbers being removed.

It is indeed a reground cam of different origin. Not a Vauxhall part

Would be really good to find an alternative, as the idle is a little too lumpy for my liking.

Ah right, stand corrected, thought I had seen it mentioned somewhere that it was.

Would a Regal map on the car help the idle at all? Just wodner whether their software is specific to the cam, where as with you running the CS software it could be making a differance, or is it just a characteristic of the cam.

according to the haynes book of lies the 2litre ecotec cams have a 10mm lift on both the inlet and zorst cam. im gunna go and rob an inlet cam from an ecotec in a scrappies. might even be worth regrinding to fast road spec. get it timed in with a vernier, might work quite well...

hmmmmm there must be loads of profiels for the x20's. maybe even some nice boost oriuentated cams! could make for a very nice and cheap method of getting cams!

it would also be nice to see the lift and duration, total and at 1mm (where you actually start to get airflow). and dont forget you want lift not duration!! wonder if the Z20 can take 12.5mm of lift!??? hehehehehe
