    Angry Vauxhall's gaylord locking nuts.

Two cars, two sets of nuts, and two broken keys. Even with the threads greased, they lock solid and then the key breaks.

The Corsa was fitted with the locking nuts, first time I had a puncture had to take it to the dealer to get them removed.

Was swapping out my faulty shocks this afternoon, got one done but then the key snapped off and I'm stuck with one good shock and one knocking faulty one.

So it's going to be a major operation to get 4 locking bolts out and replace with standard bolts again. Not amused.

magor operation ? it takes all of 15 mins tops to get 4 vx locking nuts off, just use a decent deep socket and a big hammer is easy

well if you do a search its been mentioned a few hundred times, hence why most people buy new locking bolts.
    And yes they are crap
As for posting on a public forum I'm afraid its common knowledge to any unscrupulous person out there for ripping off any car, not just vauxhalls

Yeah, Vauxhall need to catch themselves on with those. I found they work fine until a bit of road salt gets near them, then they corrode like fury. It's always been around this time of year I've had the problem.

Well, I'm going to leave the job of getting the 4 bolts out to the mechanic who lives 2 doors down - he has tools and skill. I only have a Hellfrauds socket set and, well, not much skill. I've already taken a chunk out of the alloy when the key broke.

Had another go this morning with the help of the mechanic. Got 3 of the 4 nuts off before the key finally disintegrated. He's got a fancy left-handed socket thing in his garage that can be driven on which should hopefully extract the last locked up bolt. He'll bring it home with him during the week, just hope I don't get a puncture on that wheel in the meantime.
