Eibach onwers/users, i need your help

Anyone on here using Eibach Pro Dampers? i know all you mk4 888 boys are. Could you take a look at your top mounts, and tell me what the spiggot looks like where the nuts tightens onto?

I have one with a female hex bit on, and the other side is flattened off. When i fitted them i didn't really think about seeing as i'd waited 6 months for them, i was just itching to get them on. One side i had to fi using a ring spanner and hex bit, and the other side i had to fit using a ring spanner and adjustable to hold the flat.

Apart from this, there is no difference whatsoever between the two dampers, and the obviouslt fit ok. The only thing that slightly concerns me is that now my top mounts don't sit flush with the turrets. I don't know whether this is down to the dmapers, top mounts, or my strutbrace.

    Should i be concerend?

    I'll get some pics later

It's usually down to the thickness of the nut on top of the rubber donut (and under the top hat thingy) since that acts as a spacer.

Did you use the one of the OE shock?

Assuming it's all fitted correctly, which I don't doubt, then it can only be down to the nut being too thick.

so there's no danger in having two struts with different spiggots on? they're both the same diameter just different ends.

i'm gonna have all my geometry (sp?) checked and my tracking/camber so i'll see what the garage says

no problem at all -it's just two different methods of counterholding the spiggot whiile to nip up the mounting nut

probably just two different batches of piston rod

ah right, can you get a finger in between the turret and the top mount?

What if i were to make a packer or a spacer to sandwich between the two, this would allow me to tighten the mount onto the turret, would it not??
