    1.4 LSI Aerial help?

Hey people. Looking for a bit of help...

I snapped my standard aerial by accident (a combination of forgetfulness and a car wash!) a coupla weeks ago and i'm missing the radio. Bought a universal fit bee-sting off eBay (just a cheap thing to tie me over), but i can't seem to get off the old base.

Is it just a screw-in job, or do i need to open up the panels in the boot?

The eBay seller said it would fit. Do I just need to exert every ounce of energy into shifting it, or get my screwdriver set out?

    Cheers

    Rob

Which bits broken the base or the aerial antenna itself?

Welcome to Astra Sport by the way.

Thanks. Been lurking here for a while now...

It's the antenna that has snapped, about a centimetre from the base.

    I bought this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...6889&rd=1&rd=1

    Will it be okay?

I was twisting the base pretty hard, but it wouldnt budge.

Should do it's just an unscrew jobbie.

    Simple to swap over then.

So I just need brute force to unscrew the plastic base from within the rubber outer, yeah? And the new one will screw straight in?

And the base wil come with it, it's not just the antenna that unscrews?

Your base will look like this.

It's just the stem that unscrews from the plastic base.

    No it's on a side-mount.

    Like this:

Are the rubber bits at the bottom on the base available anywhere too? Mine is a bit ruined!

    Thanks for your patience!

Doh! sorry assumed MK4 not MK3.

Nope that aerial wont fit. No amount of unscrewing/tugging will work.

You'll need to replace the whole aerial unit.
