going to start work on my astra but...

    so starting with the basics
Cleaning the engine up (preasure washer good or bad idea??)

Hose covers (as seen in argos £20 good or bad idea)

black horrible door handles (buy new or spray existing???)

same with skirts and the horrible black bar over both doors

lettering oin the back (considering take the badge and 1.6 off and have astra written where the badge is now good or bad idea??)

Lowering springs (suggest depth and price please)

pressure wash..no problems..some people say leave it running others say
switch it off. Ive done it both ways n had no probs/

Hose covers..not seen em but always a nice tocuh of colour!

Spray the skirts handles and side strips..looks good..i'll put up a pic of my old one in a sec

Take all the badges off except the middle griffin unless you are plannin on having the holes behind it smoothed and boot resprayed. If you are planning on putting the astra badge somewhere else..ie over the holes..just buy another one..they never stick right again and always knockin em off wen you wash the car.

Depends what wheels you are rolling on for springs..eibach (sp?) is always a good call..40mm ones, but if you are looking to spend a good sum of money..cant go wrong with FK coilovers.

19'' wolfrace dragon, dropped 45mm on gmax shocks and springs (£200)

Colourcoded everythin and debadged all badges (even sxi on the side)

oh and if you get big wheelies (if you havnt already done this) get a rear disc conversion...easy to do..i did it on mine!

Cleaning the engine up (preasure washer good or bad idea??)
Bad idea. Electrics and water guess what happens?

Hose covers (as seen in argos £20 good or bad idea)
Hose covers! Why not just get hoses. Will look alot less billy bolt on. IMO

black horrible door handles (buy new or spray existing???)
Spray them. Whilst your door card is off Dynamat and put in new speakers.

same with skirts and the horrible black bar over both doors
Spray them. how 2's on removing them.

lettering oin the back (considering take the badge and 1.6 off and have astra written where the badge is now good or bad idea??)
Behind the griffin is 2 holes where the badge goes into so bad idea. Getting rid of 1.6 good idea.

Lowering springs (suggest depth and price please)
Depends looks - 50/30 Eibach sportline kit £100 (LMF) Performance 30/30 Eibach pro Sports kit (includes dampeners) £115 (LMF)

Dont think its £115 for the 30/30 eibach kit with dampers, thats springs only, with dampers is £350+
