Go for the Seagate from Maplins

I picked one up a few months ago, and can't fault it TBH - just don't install the software that comes with it!!! If you need to partition it download http://www.compuapps.com/download/Sw...swissknife.htm instead.

    Otherwise... happy days

my brother has a 300GB or so segate one, hasn't had problems with it.
i have a 290GB one but i have no idea what its called.

was checking prices for you here:
    http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/computi...b&ref=redirect

you'l save about half by the looks of it if you opt for internal instead

    Western Digital 250gb PC World:

£90 in store or £78 online.

I used one the other day and they are great.

IMO the best hard drives are Western Digital ones (IDE/external)

So go for the one gRoberts has suggested (Im sure Dabs.com or Ebuyer.co.uk has it cheaper) or if you definately want one that u listed, the go with Ffoeg's suggestion and get the Seagate, although Maxtor arent bad, the Seagate has more storage (more unreliable? unknown).

I would personally recommend the Seagate one, try to get a good brand name, tend to last longer.
