Mpg difference between GSi and 2.2

Right is there really much difference between the mpg achievable from each of these??

I mean if you drive the GSi sensibly will you see the same mpg as the non turbo but larger size 2.2??

Choice for next car is between these 2 and really not sure what to go with at the present

With mixed driving 60% motorway/a-road 40% town driving im currently getting 35/36mpg.

From a full tank I get approx 350 miles... the most Ive ever got from a full tank is 391 miles when I spent the whole day on our contries finest motorways.

not really a huge difference according to vaux, however i realise vaux figures and real life tend to differ.

Ive been looking at that throttle body kit from Thorny and bearing in mind you can get a good 2.2 for 6k, put a 2k throttle body kit on that and your looking at atleast 200bhp for the same basic price of the GSi, so its not really as easy a decision as youd think

Plus a 2.2 on throttle bodies is going to sound the business
