Been with orange for the last year on there student plan, 1000 texts and 120 mins for £25 a month, and didnt really want to leave this plan as its good

But the phone I have now w800i has well seen better days! and orange want £179 to upgrade to a k800i

Didnt really want to leave this plan as it seems good value for money! but I refuse to pay £179!!

Why don't you go for the Orange Raconn contract? £25 a month, 200 anytime any network minitues, 100 landline minitues, add another orange mobile as your "magic number" which lets you talk to them for 60minitues for free, 1000 txt messages a month. I had the student contract with orange and i do recommend the racoon personally.

Upgrades on Orange (not sure about other networks) work on Tier level thing.... basically there are 5 tiers and depending on your average bill and loyalty, you will move up the teirs.

As the K800 is a new top end phone, they will definatley ask you to pay for it...unless your on the top tier...

As said above my advise would be to threaten them and say that you will leave cos the phone you want to upgrade to is too much

I had the same happen to me. Orange wanted £100 to upgrade to the Samsung D900. I tried telling them that I could get exactly the same contract on o2 with the phone for free, but they wouldn't budge so I got the PAC and went to o2.

I've been with Orange for the last 4 years and finally got them on a good contract 2 months ago

3000 mins to any network any time every month (and these roll over)
    Unlimited txt messages each month
    Insurance
and got the Orange SPV M3100 phone that was free!

All for the grand total of..........£30 a month

If there being anal, tell them your leaving. You'll get a decent contract
    No more Astra..........Now another German!
