Kyle, it really isnt worth it, not unless you have a high budget. If not, then wait until you're 19/20/21 and depending on your budget at this current time, get a whole new car. I love my hardly tuned 1.6 at the moment, just enjoy your luxurious and opt for power later as insurance is a killer these days. Get a couple no-claims behind you and you're laughing.

kyle if u want the really fast 1.6. then do it. but it would be more expensive than buying a tubo'd motor. but whats the run in that

Personally I wouldnt spend that kind of money on it, youll get some gain but its not going to be drastic for the amount spent. Either go for one of their dblias low comp turbo conversions or keep the money for upgrading to a more powerful car at a later date.

Kyle I'd loved to say go for it as I honestly think it'd be the dogs danglies but money wise mate it doesn't make sense, but then again modding any car doesn't make any finacial sense at all. It is cheaper to buy a Z20LET coupe but then most are now coming with 40-50K on the clock so already your looking at getting a new turbo for it before you do anything.

Unless you save your money and buy the new astra H with 1.6 Turbo engine. But as these are brand new for this year its not going to be the cheap option. So I wouldn't write it off just yet Kyle. Infact as I've put so much love into my car to give it up for a Astra H and start over again just ain't sitting right with me at the moment so I'm thinking engine transplant at the moment. > That is probably the most cost effective option but I'd be looking to get a brand new engine or a very very low milage SRI-T engine (Z20LET) from an Astra H providing the mounts are the same (which I'm guessing they would be). The only thing that may stop you is the wiring. But talk to the respective tuner about your options as far as drivability, cost and performance.

In the mean time you can be working on getting the car ready for the conversion. IE...
    4-5 stud conversion...
    drum to disc conversion
    uprated stopping power
    springs, dampeners and ARB
    Strut braces
    as well as cosmetic.
    Its a jam thing
