Firstly I tried to fit a Fidanza short-shift, that reputedly won't fit the F23
Lo and behold it's a straight fit, and the whole assembly was treated to a nice lubing up with silicone grease - now it's slicker than a slick thing
A road test tells me it's all working fine, except that the lift reverse bit doesn't work anymore, but it's almost impossible to downshift from 5th to reverse anyway.
Secondly, after frying my old jukebox (don't ask!!), I managed to pick up a gen US spec Neo35 (one of the last made), which has all the parts that were optional extras in the UK included in the box . Including an ali drive bay heat sink...
So after whacking in a bigger HDD, and updating the firmware to the latest version, I found that it was voice compatible . So I've spent the day tagging all the whole drive, so that when I searching for tunes it tells me the album artist and track.
It's not the best voice in the world, but at least I don't have to take my eyes of the road to find the music I'm looking for amongst the 4000 odd that are currently on there (with room for another 12,000).
All in all a happy day
