Well, today was waiting at some lights, looking at some notes on my passanger seat, looked up and car infront started moving. (couldnt see lights for a massive truck) So naturally i started moving, glanced at my notes again, (i was looking for a phone number) looked up and car infront has stopped (took my eyes off the road for 2 seconds at the most) slammed my brakes on but still hit him about 5mph.
Got out, looked at my car and it appeared fine, looked a bit closer and i had cracked the long chrome strip on the front that turns into a V (its a mk5).
Looked at his car a 55 plate fiesta, and its put about a 4" crack along the top of his bumper, i couldnt believe it had cracked at such a low speed. Surely a bumper with more surface area should absorb the shock of the impact?
Totally my fault, i should of been giving 100% attention even at such a low speed. Anyhow i now need to get a replacement chrome strip for my car and he is claiming through our company insurance so i think my boss wont be best pleased in the morning.
