    Cutting Out

    hey guys, new problem!

my car keeps cutting out when i dip the clutch, it also has lost power in the lower rev range and sometimes completely bogs down. It will idle but if I give it a bit of throttle it might just die or nearly die.

Im thinking fuel filter first and some redex? it seems a bit better after I bounced it off the redline a couple of times.

Last quiky, fuel filter for x18xe1 £15 from VX is that right? seems a bit much anywhere cheaper except for the obvious ebay?

    cheers!

I'm not 100% on this but I would be looking at the temperature sensor for the engine. There only £6 from vaux. I know theres a common problem with Z16XE's and this I haven't heard it much for X18XEL's. You may also need to reset the ECU after you do your work so disconnect the battery after the work is carried out.

Could also be idle controller as well. In which case you need a new one as cleaning them very rarely works.
    Its a jam thing

When this happened to me, cutting out upon dipping the clutch it turned out to be the ECU, I needed a new one.

I guess that is the last resort though so as Jam said, it could well be the temp sensor.
