    Making AVi files smaller?

How do you make AVi files smaller?

I have a 1.45 gb Avi that we have just taken off our video camera.

How can I make it smaller without making it look poo?

div-x or xvid are the best however if you make the video size like 320X240 it will decrease in size massivley

All I know is that I have taken it off the camera with the software that came with it and ended up with the big file.

Iwant to be able to put stuff from the camcorder onto a dvd at some point.

The 1.45gb file is just 7 minutes worth so as it is at the moment a full dvd will only be 21 min long
