Civic Type R - Bye Bye Gti???

Have you seen the spec of the New Type R?? Exactly the same power output of the engine as the old one.... Heavier car.... Have honda lost the plot?? The civic type r forum's only arguement against the GSI and VXR is its a Vauxhall and an Astra.... I hate badge snobs!

Honda have a jap special of the civic which is the saloon model and 220 bhp... There's a movie on the net of button testing it, looks lovely but even heavier!! Its a shame really because if they had put a 2.5 or even a v6 Honda could make a cracking N/A motor!

    What you think?

Well tell you the truth in safe places I would always have a laugh within limits and be very curtous.... But I was mainly on about Honda coming off the boil. When the Type R was first released it was one of the best hot hatches but now its mearly luke warm.

yeah the VTEC shift point has been lowered to 5200rpm compared to the current 5700rpm (according to the write-ups). Not going to make a lot of difference.

Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!
