    Gauge questions

Anyone fitted an air/fuel ratio gauge, was it easy?

Ive currently got a volt and boost guage in bar. To fill the other slot im either going to get a air fuel ratio gauge or a boost guage in psi.

    your thoughts?

Bin the volt guage, pointless IMHO. Air fuel ratio guages work by having a sensor in the exhaust sytem like the lamba/ 02 sensors already on your car. Im hoping to get a Apexi one (£200 but very accurate), all you need to do is wip off your front de cat pipe or somewhere along there weld the apprioate nut in, fit sensor, wire up and re fit pipe, bob's your uncle. Theres tons of guages that you could fit to help keep an eye on things....

    Boost guage
    Oil Temp
    Oil Pressure
    Air to Fuel Ratio
    Exhaust gas temp
    Inlet air temp

To name a few, just a question of where to put them on your dash

i concer i have ran sevral tuned motors over the years and i all ways fit oil presher, oil temp and charge temp if its a turbo as for the rest it depends on what is done to the motor and the map its runing ie fuel presher,boost,air/fuel all look good but shoud not change if set up right all so depends on dash space and how neet you what it to look

ive got one of stus guage din holders ive got the shitty autogauge blue led guages so need one to match up with that for the tv feature. its got to be a limted budge so no oil pressure etc as id need the sandwitch plates etc.

found out k3fus has a air fuel gauge and said it was easy to wire up so maybe it runs off a wire in the engine bay. i want to get the inlet air temp thingy put into the ashtray soon too

It may well run off your first O2 sensor, it will just crimp onto the wire coming out of it. Would recommend going for a wideband AFR as thats one guage you want to be as accurate as possible.

I have one, it's wired to pin 4 of the front lambda sensor.

I can't remeber the colour, but it's not the two grey ones (if you look at they they have a sheath around them) it's not the one next to them, it's the on the end of the plug.

I'll have a look at mine later today and tell you the colour.

The grey ones are for the lambda's heating element so don't use them!

The other two both give a reading, but one is the "low" reading and the other the "high", I connected mine to pin 3 first and the gauge bearly read, but it works fine on pin 4 which is the high.

The wire is the brown one with a white tracer on it on the car side of the plug or the black wire on the lambda side of the plug.
