    Hissing Noise?

My car has been left alone in the garage for 5 weeks getting polished etc whilst the roads are covered in salt and other general crap.

Anyways went to start it up today, and it fired up straight away. I started it in the garage and could hear something along with the normal sound of the engine.

The best way to describe the sound is, flush a toilet and wait for the cistern to fill up afterwards there'll be a whistling/hissing noise well imagine that a little bit quieter coming from the front bumper area.

Now I cant remember this being there before as I dont normally start it in the garage and stay outside the car, I normally start it when inside the car.

Is this a normal noise? or not? Engine sounds like its ticking over perfectly and its revving perfectly, air con works etc so I dont know if its normal or not.

    Cheers.

The oil will have drained but its no different to a car sitting in a showroom or scottyboys car sitting with a sheet over it in a warehouse for ages lol so didnt think that would do it anyharm, she fired up first time and ticked over really well and revved up and i could hear the dv.

I changed both my front tyres but it was still there, so I now have a new driveshaft on order including cv joints and a new wheel hub

could it be anything to do with your air con system, or may be a leak from a boost pipe?

yeah, at least take it for a run, see what it goes/runs like and check your aircon works in good order, probably not these problems but easy to eliminate as suspects.

Already checked aircon. it worked flawlessly, could tell it turned on by the sound of the engine etc and the air coming from the vents became very cold

    So thats clear.

I'll take it for a drive when I get chance one night.

Hmmm, the only other thing that springs to my mind at the mo is summing to do with the coolant system, but without puddles of water present this could be a bit of a long shot.
However with the car being stood so long and with the cooler weather, expansion contraction and all, could air pockets have developed in your system and the car trying to self bleed the air?

No oil or water marks on the garage floor.
