How lond does a Z20LET clutch last on average??

The gearbox on my Astra GSi (F23 I think??) has to come out in the next couple of weeks for a mod, and was wondering if I should replace the clutch while its out, as I'll get it fitted for free, so just costs me a clutch. The car has 52,000 miles on and is running pretty much standard power at the mo. How long do the clutches normally last in these??
    Any help appreciated,
    Chris

lol, I wish I could afford to do all that at once but I cant! Gonna have a think about it for a day or too, I'm a mechanic myself, so if the clutch does fail i can do it myself, but Vauxhall are stripping the gearbox under warranty so could get it done now Dont know whether I can justify the expense at the moment when the clutch seems fine!

94k and original AFAIK. I think it slips sometimes, but not entirely sure - it has the same symptom as my sister in law's golf tdi. Revs increase but 100-200 then back down and get great power.

if you've got traction control, or leave ESP switched on, forget an LSD.

What have you done now Mr Thompson? Did you mangle the gearbox trying to show off to Michelle?

Mine has covered about 47k and is goosed - only since I put in the new flywheel though.

I'd check the condition of it when you take the gearbox off - if it's got plenty of meat on it leave it - if you are changing the flywheel or adding a LAD though, change the clutch too.
