    Question Advice please

I think i have a Z18XE 1.8 16v ecotec engine. Just wondered what you think would be best: Airbox Mods or Induction kit?
I wanna make it sound throaty without causing problems to the engine, already have a stainless steel twin Magnex backbox.

    All suggestions welcome

    Thanks, Ste.

K&N cone filter for noise. BMC canister for performance. Derestrict the airbox and fit veccy C diesel air intake pipe for cheapness and fit K&N panel filter.

    Cone filter £80
    BMC canister £100+
    Airbox mod + K&N panel filter £50

Which ever you choose you won't see a massive return in BHP because the AFM (air flow meter) measures the air going in and cuts off when its had its fill. So a performance filter doesn't do much for performance.
Cone filters induct hot air from around the engine bay which will effect performance negativly but you get that lovely induction roar. However closed systems take fresh cold air from outside so no such problems.

    Hope that helps

    Airbox mods ideally.

Won't sound as lairy as induction kit but it'll run better.

Drill the wing side of the airbox and it'll make it sound a bit more lairy than standard.

Have a look in the technical section at the how 2 guides. The part numbers will be listed for you. Best place for a K&N try www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk tell them your from AS and you may recieve some discount.
