    Advice Wanted on Induction Kit

    I wanted to know what peoples opinions were on which is the best enclosed cold air induction kit to go for? Possibly with a carbon fibre shield, i've found a shop selling new ones on ebay for £115 but wondered if anyone knew of any cheaper ones or anyone on here that did deals on that sort of thing?

    Thanks in advance.

    By the way its for a 2003 1.8 coupe.

    Cheers

    u'll find loads of info in the search bit.
    i was thinking of an closed air induction, but tbh just derestricting ur airbox, veccy c pipe and a k&N or piperX panel filter give identical results as a £200 piperX viper for about £50 all together. a 'how to' on this is here;

    and

    but its up 2 you. i was seriously going 4 a viper, but really its better 2 do the tried and tested airbox mods, as i did 2day

    Well tbh i was asking this as i have already got a bmc kit which i am not happy with. The fitting isn't very good and after taking the little screws out round the sides to get the carbon shield off to wash the filter and re-oil it at servicing intervals the whole thing has deteriorated to the point where i can only get one or two of them back in.

    I have cut off my intake pipe and everything and put a metal duct channel straight to the bmc, therfore its not that simple to simply put the original airbox (modded or not) back in.

    I got a bmc in the first place to get an induction roar in addition to increased performance. I dont know how the modded airbox would measure up in either of these areas.

    I am reluctant to buy another very expensive induction kit as i forked out nearly £200 for my bmc only 3 years ago and it is now needing replaced.

    Any suggestions or feedback welcome.

    For induction roar you don't want an enclosed filter. K&N would suit you perfectly. But obviously you don't want to be inducting just hot air so I'd get a Veccy C diesel air intake and fit that securing it in position. 2nd hand K&N's are quite cheap on the bay but I'd flog the BMC and buy the Gen II K&N kit.
