    Help, ebay advise needed

I recently sold a multi changer for a renult on ebay. I t was babrely used and in perfect working order.
However the guy who brought it for £65 has advised me it doesnt work?!?!
i have told him it did when i sent it, it was posted via courier, extremely well packaged as i did it via work. I suggested he contact renult for fitting advise and this is his reply, any ideas where i stand or what i should do? received his payment on the 13th december, posted out on 20th december on an over night service.

    Hi there,
I have taken the unit to the local Renault dealer as you suggest. They have confirmed the following:
    1. The radio head unit is compatible with the CD changer
    2. The CD changer is simply 'plug and play' ie I have connected it correctly
    3. The message 'no CD' indicates a fault with the unit
    4. Given that the unit was apparently working when despatched but was faulty on arrival, it has been damaged in transit and the reason for this is that you did not insert the 3 transit screws back into the unit. These would have been removed by the Renault dealer that fitted the unit for you.
I have no doubt that you have acted in good faith in this matter - you have after all already left me +ve feedback. However the item is defective and it would seem this is a result of your inadvertent omission to replace the transit screws. Please therefore send me your address to enable me to return the item to you for a full refund.

Sorry sweet pea looks like its coming back.

Suggest you tell him/her they will get a full refund when the unit is tested and confirmed faulty. Thats if you still have the renault or know anyone with a renault you can test it with. Unless you get an autoelectrician to test it or take it to renault and pay them to test it. Otherwise babe offer a full refund upon receipt.

You can't be any fairer than that.

Not the answer i was hoping for
It definalty worked when i sent it, and there's no way it was moved about in transit any more than in the boot of a car. If it is now faulty then i'm gonna have to refund him and i'll be left with a useless item!! arrrggghhh!

See if you can get it tested Claire and once working take a video on your phone. Send it him back with a DVD containing the video of it working. Inform ebay that it works fine and show them the video by posting it online.

Sorry babe I can't think of anything else to do that would be fair.

He's probably realised he has bought the wrong one or something. That's if of course, you're being 100% honest

Has he done the 'PayPal' dispute thing against you?

yeah i hate stuff like this.

when i sold my cdr500 on ebay they said it didnt work when they recieved it.

i assured them it worked when i sent it, and never heard back from them.

i think they were trying it on for me to take thier broken one back (i assume it was a replacement for thier broken one).

either way i didnt hear back from them after i assured them it worked in my astra when i took it out ad again in my rover when i took the cd i left in it out by plugging it into my rover.

although with a cd changer there ARE transit screws that should be put in. so it could have been damaged in transit, or it could have been broken when they got it, or alternatively they could be trying it on.

    cant really say.

one of the downsides of ebay ufortunately.

I'm being totally 100% honest, i would never sell something faulty.
He paid via cheque so no paypal involved with this one.
