    dump valve& k&n induction kit

running a dp dump valve and k&n coned induction kit so air is picked up from the front of the car not the engine bay as suggested by camerons to improve torque once remap is done. dont know if this is right.

An induction kit will lose you power and torque, many think it will but purely from the physics of it, you will draw in a large amount og hot engin bay air. This in turn will make the intercooler less efficient as it has to work harder.

The best method of induction, is to de-restrict your standard air box, fit a K&N panel filter in the standard air box and fit a Vectra C inlet pipe from the slam panel to the air box inlet.

I have done many hours of rolling road testing to see what is good and what is not so good.

After market dump valves are also not a wise choice for the Z20LET.

the filter has a round plastic cone that completely covers it. it has a cold intake pipe which is sealed omto the cone which goes directly to the front of the car onto the vectra c pipe so no hot air from engine bay cant get in. dont know if that makes a difference.

Ah, now if your talking about at Viper or similar, which is totally enclosed then yes, you won't draw any warm air into the engine, but unfortunatly, they also don't really offer anything in the power/torque gains either.
