    GPS Antenna mounting

Does anybody have a pic of where they have mounted an external gps antenna on thier car, preferably on a coupe, is there any way i could mount an antenna internally maybe a glass mount one, bearing in mind that the front screen will possibly have a coating effecting gps reception, does the rear screen have the same coating? or maybe inside the boot?
I havent actually got a coupe yet, i sold my mk4 back in october to get a clio dci, what a mistake that was, but hey that gives me an excuse to get a coupe.

    Thanks

No pictures but can answer your questions

Not all coupe's have the reflective front screen. If one does have it there will be a black dot matrix area around the rear view mirror that doesn't have the coating on so you can stick the aerial there wil some double sided tape.

The rear screen doesn't have any coating on it at all so if you want to hide it you can have it under the card rear shelf but remember the aerials don't go through metal so don't go under the metal part of the shelf in the boot

Personally speaking Id just do what several ppl already have done and that's fitting the standard antenna on the rear shelf - just make a little incision and feed the wire through that and into the GPS device whilst mounting the antenna securely in place on the shelf.....unless u have a cream interior and cream shelf then it wouldnt be so discreet I guess....but if its standard black/grey then it shouldnt be very noticeable.

Obviously u could mount it under the shelf as Sparks says but I have no experience of this so cant comment.

No need to cut anything GB GPS aerials go through lots of materials so hide it away
