youll need the 72Ah Vx "GO" battery - part number 93176583 £53 + VAT from dealers

just got one myself - mated up with a 120amp alternator and its the dogs doo dahs!

Id defo consider uprating the alternator - or at least the BIG 3 if ur running serious ICE

If you can find an old Mk4 police car in a scrappers anywhere they have the largest alt fitted as standard. I knew where there were a few of them on broken police 1.4s in the Derby area but I haven't contacted him recently so he may have sold them all.

unfortunately the alternator i got isnt the exact fitting for mine so wouldnt want to tell u a duff part number.
Beware though - a NEW alternator from VX is a good few hundred, a replacement unit is a lot less..... if ur lucky u can get a brand new Vx unit for knock down price (mine cost £30 on ebay!)
Theres pattern units on the market for circa £120.

What engine & year u got ? I'll get the PN if ya like

Presume u have aircon and therefore 100A unit as standard?

120AMP Part Number: 9195336 Should be the correct unit for ur car.

Theres a few different variations of the 120A unit - with varying mounting points - for instance I have the one intended only for the X20XEV fitted onto my 1.6 which isnt ideal - but it still does the job!

its a doddle to change - remove any air intake trunking u have - slacken the main bolt on the alt and the varying mounting torx bolts - grab a 15 or 17mm spanner hold the main tensioner bolt and pivot forward until the belt slackens from the alt.

as said earlier - NEW ur looking at a good couple of hundred! Replacement then maybe £150 ish

Might be worthwhile lookin on ebay - if ya cant find a 2nd hand one theres plenty of sellers advertising brand new pattern parts - maybe a quick email in their direction might help.

Having said all that - a new battery will defo help things along and the 100amper will certainly be better than nothing.

U may want to uprate/replace the earth/power cables from starter/alternator/battery etc to make best use of the additional power.
