    Suspension upgrade.

Hi all, i know its christmas day, but i'm bored waiting for the turkey to cook lol.

I've got a 1999 mk4 Astra Sport 1.8 3 door and the orginial suspension is shot to sh1t and is gonna need replacing for the MOT in march.
What i'm asking for is recomendations for replacment shocks and springs. The cars sitting on 16" Cav turbo wheels at the moment and i may increase to 17's or possibly 18's in the future.
Lots of people have said Eibach are good quality componets to use.

So basicly what i'm asking for is information on what to choose and where to get it from.

    Cheers in advance
    Chris.

    oh and Merry Christmas!

Just gonna go for the cheapest option as i'm gonna be selling the car and putting the standard wheels back on.
Can get four Bilstein shocks for £196 of www.tuning.co.uk and £69 will get me some 40mm springs.
Gonna go with that unless anyone knows of anywhere cheaper?

    Chris.

If you're selling the car then you can prob get replacements from a breakers for a whole lot less than £250!!!!!

Try www.Autovaux.co.uk - but phone em, they have a whole lot more than the website gives credit for.
    0-60 in 6.5 secs and 48mpg- winner!

If ur interested I can PM u the details of a company sells top class TUV approved Dutch made full suspension kits for £169 - I have the same kit on mine (marketed as -40mm) but in reality more like 50/40 and is top notch. Mine runs 18s with no problems whatsoever and handles perfectly

Several ppl will be quick to judge based on the above - but Ive had several comments from ppl on here who "know their stuff" and trust me they are top notch.

If ur interested let me know.. NOT posting link on forum to prevent small minded ppl who dont know what they're on about slagging off the kit.

EDIT: PM sent with details of specific kit

Cheers for the link fella, very interesting.
Gonna have a look in the local scrappies at the weekend, also handy as i'm half an hour from VPSC, so hopefully Eddie will have something in for me.

As mentioned if your selling the car get down your nearest breakers and pic up some from there, shouldn't cost much.

The Eibach springs are good quality, however I found the Eibachs on the front of my Coupe quite stiff. If your just going for springs then these would be 'ok', however if your going dampers also I would choose a softer spring.

If I was doing it again I would choose the whiteline springs, or vogland springs that are both only slighty higher poundage than stock springs.

I also have a stripped Cavalier that I use for track days, running front vogland springs and that car handles fine.

Cheers for the info fella. Think i'm gonna be keeping the car for a while, at least til my Gsi is re-built, so i reckon i'll be going for the kit GeordieBandit recomended.
Gonna put her in for an MOT next weekend to see excatly whats needed as it runs out in March and i can't be without a car for too long.
