you alright mate, i saw this i think a couple of weeks ago, is it on ebay? and from southampton, i asked the exact same question you did bout the turbo, i've got a couple of friends who have got astra coupe's and one with a gsi and two with the sri turbo, alll with the z20let engine and all of them have had to have new turbos, at around 40k, dunno weather it's beacuase of their driving or the turbo's on them are a bit shite, thats why i just stuck with a 1.8 no turbo to go pop.

Turbos tend to go at around the 60k mark.. some more, some less of course. Basically if you look at one around this mileage then check if it's been replaced already or budget for changing it in the near future. Check from the usual smoke signs etc.

The Z20LET eats air from meters, they cost around a ton (think I got mine on eBay for £75) - a dealer wanted £200+ to supply and fit one though.

Great cars though - will do 30mpg+ if you don't drive it like you stole it and plenty of tuning potential.
