    Question email on mobile

    how do i set up my email on my samsung d600 so i can send emails and check them?
    My ambition is to live forever,.. so far so good

    1.From the Main Display press Menu.

    2. Scroll to Messaging and press Select.

    3.Scroll to Settings and press Select.

    4.Scroll to Email and press Select.

    5.Scroll to Account Settings and press Select.

    6.Scroll to Email Profile

    7.Scroll down to Profile settings and press Select

    8.Scroll down to an empty profile (i.e. Account 3) and press Select.

    9.At Profile Name enter a new name for your internet profile (i.e. Vodafone Internet)

    10.Scroll down to APN and enter:

    for PayT: pp.vodafone.co.uk
    for Contract: internet press Ok.

    11.Scroll down to Login ID and enter web

    12.Scroll down to Password and enter web

    13.Scroll down to DNS1 and enter 212.183.137.012

    14.Press Save

    15.Press Back twice

    16.Scroll up to Email Account and press Select

    17.Scroll down to Account Settings and press Select

    18.Scroll down to an empty profile (i.e. Account 2) and press Select

    19.Press the OK/i key to select In use to make this your default email account

    20.Scroll down to Account Name and enter a name for your new email account i.e. Vodafone Mail

    21.Scroll down to User Name and enter your username (I.e. John.smith) i.e. for Vodafone Mail this is everything before the @vodafone.net of your email address

    22.Scroll down to Email Address and enter your email address (i.e. john.smith@vodafone.net)

    23.Note: press the 1 key once for a full stop and press it 6 times to get the @ symbol

    24.Scroll to Reply Address and enter your email address again

    25.Scroll to User Id and your username again

    26.Scroll down to Password and enter your email password

    Note: The password and username can be case sensitive

    27.Scroll to SMTP Server and enter smtp.vodafone.net or as required by your email service provider

    28.Scroll to SMTP port and set as 25 or as required by your email service provider

    29.Scroll to Protocol Type and scroll left or right to IMAP4 or as required by your email service provider, POP3 or IMAP4

    30.Scroll to IMAP4 Server or POP3 Server what appears here will depend on what was selected in point 28 above and enter imap.vodafone.net or the server required by your email service provider i.e. pop.mail.yahoo.com click here to see some common provider settings

    31.Scroll to IMAP4 Port or POP3 Port what appears here will depend on what was selected in point 28 above and enter :
    for IMAP4: 143
    for POP3 110.

    32.If you do not want to download attachments with you email then press the OK/i key to de-select this option

    33.Scroll down to Max. Emails retrieved, this is set at 30, change as required

    34.Press Save.

    35.To download your email

    36.Press Back twice to Current Account, scroll to your new account and press Select to activate it

    37.Scroll up to My Messages and press Select

    38.Scroll up to Email Box and press Select

    39.Stay on Check new mail and press Select

    Please bear in mind that the above points are VODAFONE specific, so you will have to change those to the O2 details, which i dont know, sorry

    Seeing as it looks like the above has been resolved....dont suppose anyone could give some details on how to setup email on Vodafone for N73 ??

    If not then shit happens I guess.

    Here you go!

    From the main display press the Menu key to enter the main menu.

    Scroll to Tools and press the left select key under Select

    Scroll to Settings and press the left select key under Select

    Scroll to Connection and press the left select key under Select

    Stay on Access Points and press the left select key under Select

    Press Options and scroll to New access point and press the left select key under Select.

    Scroll to Use Default settings and press the left select key under Select.

    At Connection name will be highlighted, press the centre key to select

    Enter a new name for your profile i.e. Vodafone Internet and press the left select key under OK.

    Scroll to Access point name and press the centre key to select and enter:
    for Contract wap.vodafone.co.uk
    for PayT: pp.vodafone.co.uk
    and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to User name and press the centre key to select and enter web and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Prompt password and press the centre key to select

    Scroll to No and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Password and press the centre key to select and enter web and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Authentication and press the centre key to toggle and select normal

    Select Normal and press the left select key under Ok.

    Press the left select key under Options, scroll to Advanced settings and press the left select key under Select.

    Network type should be set at Ipv4 if not press the centre key toggle and select it

    Phone IP address should be set at automatic if not press the centre key toggle and select it

    Name servers should be set at automatic if not press the centre key toggle and select it

    Scroll down to Proxy serv. address and press the centre key to select and enter 212.183.137.012 and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Proxy port number and press the centre key to select and enter 8799 and press the left select key under Ok.

    Press the right select key under Back twice.

    From the main display press the Menu key to enter the main menu.

    Scroll to Messaging and press the centre key to select

    The Messaging screen will be displayed, press the left select key under Options.

    Scroll to Settings and press the left select key under Select.

    Scroll to E-Mail and press the centre key to select

    Mailboxes will be highlighted, and press the centre key to select

    If None have been defined you will get the error No mailbox defined. Define now, and press the left select key under yes.

    The Mailbox wizard now pops up, press the left select key under Start.

    At Mailbox Type scroll to IMAP4 or POP3 and press the centre key to select, press the left select key under Next.

    At Mailbox name will be highlighted, and press the centre key to select

    At My email address and press the centre key to select and enter your email address (i.e. john.smith@vodafone.net) and press the left select key under Next.
    Note: press the 1 key once to get a full stop and six times to get the @ symbol

    At Incoming Mail Server enter the incoming mail server provided by the email provider (for Vodafone Mail enter imap.vodafone.net for Vodafone Mail, click here to see some common providers settings) and press the left select key under Next.

    At Outgoing Server for Vodafone Mail enter smtp.vodafone.net, click here to see some common providers settings) and press the left select key under Next.

    Scroll to Create New and press the Centre key and press the left select key under Next.

    Connection name and press the Centre key to select, enter Vodafone web and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Data bearer and press the Centre key to select

    Packet data will be highlighted, press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Access point name and press the Centre key to select and enter
    For Contract - internet
    for PayT - pp.vodafone.co.uk
    Press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to User name and press the Centre key to select, enter web and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Prompt password and press the Centre key to select No

    Scroll to Password and press the Centre key to select, enter web and press the left select key under Ok.

    Scroll to Authentication and press the Centre key to select Normal

    Press the right select key under Back.

    At Mailbox name enter a name for the account and press the left select key under Finish
